You can now sign up for the 2026 season
Cruising Group
Held every other Saturday at the Minneapolis Sailing Center starting May 30, 2026 10-12:30pm.
Within this group you will learn how to sail at your own pace with the help of a sighted guide. The blind/visually impaired sailor will learn everything that has to do with sailing. No experience is necessary.
For example:
- Rigging a boat
- Being at the helm
- Using the mainsail
- Using a jib
- Safety
- Finding the wind direction
- Many more
For the 2025 season we have some sailors that will do solo sails, get their flag ratings and sail off the mooring.

Volunteer Sighted Guides
These are volunteer sighted guides that will join you in the boat. Each boat could have 1-4 blind/visually impaired sailors and 1 sighted guide (sometimes 2). These are sighted guides that have gone through the annual TCBS training.
